Hey Curvy Girlys!

If you have been keeping up with me on social media then you already know…I recently cut my hair. Yes, I’m living that #CutLife and keeping my Undercut Looking FLY!  My sides, and back have been completely cut down and of course you know your girl had to get a design.

I’ve had a lot of questions about keeping my Undercut looking FLY, so I’m sharing 3 tips with you!

Tip #1: Keep It Tight

That’s right! It’s about that cut. Be sure to visit your barber/hairstylist every 2-3 weeks to maintain that sharp look. I personally prefer to keep my hair very low and my hair grows extremely fast, so I try to visit every 2 weeks.

If you decide to get a design, then you may want to modify how often you go for a cut. If your planning to maintain the same design then you can go every 2 weeks or sooner so your barber/stylist can follow the design. If you are ready for a new design, then I suggest that you wait about 3 weeks to ensure that you have some new growth and won’t have the new design competing with the old.

This is also the perfect time to talk with your barber/stylist about getting a trim. Remember to keep your longer hair healthy too!

Tip #2: Play It Up

Play with your styles and designs. Having natural hair, I love playing with pinup styles, Twist-outs, Bantu Knots..You name it, I’ve probably tried it! It’s a huge misconception that an undercut will limit your styling options. I feel that I’ve created more styles now, then before I cut my hair. You just have to let your creative juices flow and have fun.

Play with a little color. I love the idea of dying the cut section of the hair, so when the hair is down you see just a little peek-a-boo of color or when wore up, It’s bold! It gives the element of surprise. Color is just another fun way for you to Play it Up!
