I’m sitting here screaming….nnnooooooo…The weekend can’t be over, not yet. I blinked and it’s Sunday night and here I am recapping my weekend. As I write this, I’m all smiles for the future because the weekend has been amazing. So, Monday fastly approaching is okay, better than okay, I’m excited about the week ahead . So, what was good about it, you ask?
Saturday started off just like every Saturday, awaking to Thank God and having a morning cup of coffee, but it didn’t last too long because I had a photo shoot to get ready for. This photo shoot brought tears to my eyes because I can see the growth of This Curvy Girls Life. On this photo shoot, I had a creative director that helped me to bring my vision of a Holiday Glam look to life in a fun-filled location, which you’ll see very soon on the blog. I also had a photographer, whose eye for a good picture is so special. I love my team and I can’t believe I just said that, my team. We are all working toward building this amazing dream and words cannot express my gratitude.
A year ago, I would have never thought that I’d be here and be celebrating the 1 year anniversary of This Curvy Girls Life. I knew that I had a dream and passion that God put in my heart, and I know that Gods vision for my life is much larger and I already see how my dreams were small compared to His plan.
After the amazing photo shoot, it was time to hang out with my girl, Sherrie Quannea of IKED Entertainment for lunch and goal setting for 2016. With the new year around the corner it’s time to start thinking about our goals. I’m love planning and goal setting but the real thing that makes me go crazy is completing the goals and executing the planning. Some say I’m a perfectionist and when it comes to planning/goal setting, I must agree. I like to color code each goal, write all of the smaller goals under the larger ones on notepads. This allows me to see everything visually and plan out details for each month. I also color code my calendar, which allows me to see each goal on a daily, weekly or monthly basis.
Sunday was a fun day! It was the 1 year Anniversary of Tru’Mane The Natural Spot, hosted by blogger TheVicStyles . If you’ve been following me since the start of “This Curvy Girls Life”, then you may remember that I hosted the grand opening last year, so it was great to be able to celebrate the 1 year anniversary and send my love to the Tru’Mane team for many more years to come. The event was filled with beautiful Naturalista’s, appetizers and drinks from Mix Party hosted by blogger Lashon Renee of 4 The Love of Curls. We had an amazing time from hair demos by Kamika King of Inspired Beauty, product overview of LRC Healthy Hair Care and J.Cole product line. Being able to spend the day talking natural hair, catching up with bloggers, Lydia of LA Curly Girls, Lila of Curvy Girls N Curls, and Cherish of Cherish Me Beautiful was definitely a Fun Day.
As I get ready for week, I’m excited for the future and what week it will bring!
