Fall Checklist // Best Local Apple Picking and Pumpkin Patch

Hey Curvy Crew!

As a kid, I never looked forward to the fall season because that’s when school started back, which also meant that summer was officially over. As an adult, I absolutely love the fall season for so many reasons, but one of my main reasons is the fashion. There is something so special about fall clothing, from the boots, scarves and cardigans, I just can’t get enough. On top of the amazing fashion selections, fall is the season of Thanks and giving back. It’s the time of the year that I donate my time and money to local charities such as the Santa Monica Shelter, where I feed 70 residents lunch with a group from work or church. It’s brings me joy to help others.

As I was planning Fall for the season, I realized that although I loved the fall, I’ve only done a few fall related activities and to be truthful, I haven’t done anything in the last 3 years. Knowing that I was due for some fall fun, I decided to make a Fall Checklist to help keep me on track and try to experience all of the things that I’ve listed.

Going Apple Picking has been on my list for years and I’m finally going this weekend with friends and I can’t wait. If you’re in the LA area, Oak Glen is about an hour and a half from Downtown LA and has received some good reviews for family fun, plus I’ve heard the foliage in the area is amazing. If I’m able to pick apples and get a nice photo with the fall foliage, then I’ve already crossed off two items on my check list.

One of the most fun and scariest corn mazes that I have been to is the Halloween Harvest Festival at Pierce College. If you haven’t been, it’s definitely one to check out with the family. They offer Hay Rides, Pumpkin patch, live entertainment and wide variety of other attractions for everyone in the family. The Haunted Corn Trail, is fun but to be truthful when I went last time, I was hauling ass through the trail but then when it was over, I went again…lol  This festival offers so much to do, see and taste, so we are looking forward to checking out this pumpkin patch and corn maze again this year.

Fall is the perfect time of year where adults can have some fun with the kids and allow our inner kid to come out. As you bring family and friends together during this season of Thanks, remember to also enjoy this life by experiencing all that life has to offer and create memories with friends and family that you’ll never forget.
