I was super excited to review the Sweet Tea (hair tea) and Babassu Bliss from Inspired Beauty. If you’ve been following me for a while or attended my last event then you remember meeting Kamika King, owner and founder of Inspired Beauty.
When she reached out to me to review two of her products that I haven’t had a chance to use yet, I couldn’t resist the opportunity to let my hair feel the amazing power of the Inspired Beauty product line, as I’ve loved the other products that I’ve purchased from Inspired Beauty.
The Sweet Tea is made to “Revitalize your hair & scalp! After a single use your tresses will feel softer, more moisturized, and pampered. Made from Certified Organic ingredients specially blended to support beautiful healthy hair including Silk Amino Acids for strength and shine. Ideal for all hair types and textures. **Glycerin Free**”
I used the Strengthen Me formula, which infuses strength and elasticity into your hair with organic herbs and the power of silk. After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I sprayed the Sweet Tea on to my wet hair to add some additional moisture. I immediately noticed that my hair had slip, felt moisturized and although wet, you could notice the shine that my hair had after spraying.I detangled my hair and then sprayed a little more of the Sweet Tea on my scalp and hair after sectioning.
After allowing my hair to dry and lightly blowdrying to complete my look, I added some of the Babassu Bliss, which is “a thick and creamy water-based moisturizer that leaves hair feeling silky and hydrated. Can be used daily on all types of hair. Highly concentrated so a little goes a long way! Lightly scented.”
I added about a quarter size amount to each section, making sure to coat each section with the product. To ensure that each strand received the moisture, I used my Denman brush to distribute the product evenly. During the colder months, I noticed that my scalp can become a little dry, so I decide to make small parts within each section and added a little bit more of the Babassu Bliss to my scalp.
My hair felt well moisturized, super soft and ready for styling. I decided not to use a styler as the Babassu Bliss states that it can be used for “Twists, puffs, braids, coils, bantus, and more…all you need to get soft, moisturized, silky, blissful hair.” My hair was already pre-sectioned so I did three flat twists in each section, as I was working with my hair, I noticed that my hair never felt heavy or coated, no additional oils or creams were needed, which for my think course is rare and my hair had this amazing sheen.
After completing the flat twists, I wrapped my hair in a satin scarf and it was off to bed. The next morning when it was time to take down my hair, I was again noticed that my hair still felt very soft and moisturized, so much so that I decided to forgo my usual use of oil to take down my twists. Without any holding gels or butter, my hair had amazing definition. I was so happy with the overall results of the of using the Sweet Tea and Babassu Bliss, these will definitely remain in my staple products for a while. Throughout the day, my hair held most of the definition and I received tons of complements on my hair.
My Overall Thoughts and Score for Babassu Bliss:
