Invested

I’m “Invested” in my curves! Being plus size most of my life and growing up in the 80’s/90’s was hard, but over the years I’ve grown to truly love the skin I’m in. I’ve had a lot of critics say that plus size is unhealthy, but I don’t think that that’s always the case.  I’m a huge advocate for getting in the gym, living a healthy life and eating right, but these are tips that everyone should be using, not just those that are deemed plus size.

Our curves are meant to be embraced, not shied away from. If we can’t love ourselves at 250 pounds, then will we truly love ourselves at 150? It’s not about what you see in the mirror, it’s about what’s on the inside. Character, Integrity and the love you show to others. That’s what’s important.

Be “Invested” in your curves, your confidence, your life! Be “Invested” in things that make you smile. Be “Invested” in love. Be “Invested” in fabulous fashion, such as this great vest from Forever21+…See how I segued into that…lol

Our style, represents to the world who we are and what we are “Invested” in. For some that is labels, for other that’s indie brands and for some it’s making their own fashion. I love how I feel in the right outfit, it brings out a little additional confidence in my walk. Although, I know that my confidence doesn’t come from exterior things, but a cute vest and perfect fitting jeans, never hurt.

What are you “Invested” in? Is it your family, career, fashion?

  1. Hi Jana’e,

Nice outfit! I agree that everybody should embrace themselves for who they are and that true beauty is not the one defined by today’s society or the media. Very inspirational and uplifting post! Looking divine in that outfit. If I may suggest, you should wear more sandals. They really compliment you!
    Have a great week!

    1. Thank you so much! And I agree, about the sandals. I have a little secret, I have larger feet, so it’s hard to find “cute” sandals…lol But I’m working on it and planning to post about some different shoe options for girls with larger feet.
I appreciate your support! Have a beautiful week!!!
