We each have fears, whether it’s fear of failure, success, loneliness, love or any of the many fears we each carry. We have to find something inside of us to give us the strength to keep going no matter what and push past the fear.
I know it sounds easier than it actually is, but it’s all about our choice. We can choose to give in or give up because of fear or we can look fear in the eye, take a deep breath and go for it anyway. I want to choose the latter every day of my life. I want to feel the butterflies in my stomach, the lump in throat and shortness of breath every day and push through it. I’ve lived in the comfortable place for a very long time and it hasn’t taken me to any of the places that I dream of. So, why should I stay comfortable? Why not try the uncomfortable?
As I type this, I feel the blood rushing to my feet and my breathing pattern is changing because I’m thinking of all of the uncomfortable things that I want to do, but it doesn’t feel like fear. It’s excitement and anticipation to see what the uncomfortable looks like. Will my life change? Will I change?
It’s funny how I was scared, but when I accepted the uncomfortable feelings that were ahead, my fear subsided and excitement made it’s way up. Yes, there is still a little tinge of fear, but nothing that will hold me back from taking the steps I need to, to see my goals and dreams come true.
Today, I opened my eyes and saw a different world. A world of possibilities, a world that I’ve been given a special invitation to. As much as we plan for tomorrow, it’s never promised, so why should we live each day in fear, unhappy or depressed? I have faith that our lives are meant for much more, that is why we all have dreams, but only some of us follow our hearts to see those dreams through.
What’s stopping you from following your heart? Rent? Bills? Family? I know, we all of those list of priorities that hold us back but do we want to take our last breath and have regret in our hearts because we were so busy chasing paper, the title or the car?
Tomorrow is not promised…Live today!
