This weekend with was jammed pack with events and work but I never felt overwhelmed or anxious because it was all a blessing. Walking in my purpose has never felt so good. As a blogger, I not only want to provide you with great content but I also want connect with you and other women so that we can help each other in various ways.
When I left work on Friday, I had no idea that the two major events that I would attend over the weekend would cultivate new relationships. On Saturday, Court’ney Renee of Flourishe hosted the Connect and Collaboration event at The Viceroy in Santa Monica, Ca. Not only was the venue stunning, but I made several connections with women in different industries that I would love to work with one day. As I nurture these new relationships, I hope to inspire other women to network and connect to help them reach their dreams as well.
The next day, it happen all over again. I attended the #BeShameless Birthday and Anniversary event for Maya Washington at The Unique Space in Downtown LA. For those that don’t know Maya, which means you’re hiding under a bed, she is a YouTube Creator, was the art director and photographer for Prince’s last album and the creator of #BeShamless and #DoYouBoo, which encourages women and men to take the chance and follow your dreams, be shameless.
I met and exchanged cards with so many people and made some amazing connections with women that I look forward to working with very soon. Maya also hosted a panel discussion which was so inspirational and pushed me to continue to step out of my comfort zone and have fun. I even uploaded my first vlog. I was scared sh*@less but I did it. And I plan to do even more with the skills and talent that I’ve been blessed with. Stay tuned, as I have a post coming up called “5 things I’ve learned from the Shameless Maya event”. You don’t want to miss these tips.
The look featured in this post is what I wore to the Shameless Maya event. I knew that I would be on my feet all day, so I wanted to be comfortable but most of all I wanted to be me. This look gave me the opportunity to add a little sparkle in this lightweight Lane Bryant Sweater, keeping the look simple, I paired with Lane Bryant Gray denim jeans and my all-white Nike Air Force 1’s and completed the look with a simple turban which turned out to be what brought me and PatrickStarr together for a picture…lol But more on that in a later post.
Overall, I felt good, looked good and had a blast over the entire weekend. Thankful for the opportunity to do what I love and be surrounded by people who love what they do and encourage others in their journey.
What were you thankful for over the weekend? What amazingness happen to you?
