Hey Loves,

I’m so excited to share my recent hairstyle, especially since it’s been awhile since I’ve recorded a video for you. This look was super easy and fun. I used the Perm Rods and few new products to my natural hair arsenal.

I started this look with washed and conditioned hair, to keep the style looking good and maintain some moisture since it’s been extremely hot and humid in California I opted for two Leave-in Conditioners, Alikay Naturals Lemongrass Leave-In(spray) and Be Kekoa Smoothing Leave-in(cream). I used the spray to help moisten the hair and the cream to over to spray to lock in the moisture level.

I then went in with the Alikay Naturals Essential 17 Hair Growth Oil. I massaged my scalp and add a little to ends of my hair to seal in all that moisture. After sectioning the hair, into four quadrants, I started to detangle and prepare the hair for the perm rod installation.

During the summer I prefer to use a gel for styling because my hair responds better due to the humidity and heat. I tried a new product, the Shea Moisture Curling Gel Souffle which I think I love!!

After installing all of the perm rods, I allowed my hair dry overnight and during the take down, I used the Shea Moisture Finishing Elixir which helped to give shine and reduce frizziness.

Check out the video to see from start to end on how I achieved full bouncy girls!

What are your best tips for a great Perm Rod set?
