5 Tips to find the perfect Curvy Skinny Jeans

The buzz with “The Boyfriend Jean” and “Flare Jean” is strong but the buzz about skinny jeans never left. It’s the jean that is perfect for casual looks on the weekend, yet can be dressed up for a night out. They look good with boots, heels and flats, and add your favorite tee or girly blouse and you’re good to go.

Finding the perfect skinny jeans for the plus size girl can be a major feat as you want a pair that fit perectly, has a little stretch and is the right length. Are they hard to find? Yes. Is it impossible? No. Some of my favorite places to get a good pair of plus size jeans is Torrid and Old Navy, but trying them on is a must. Here are a few tips to help you find your perfect pair of skinnies.

Get your stretch on…
- I’m a firm believer in jeans that have a little stretch with the texture of real denim.. They fit amazing, hug your curves, and they accentuate your legs and butt. If you have problem areas such as your stomach, like I do, then simply pair these with a blouse, boyfriend tee, hi-lo top or blazer.
Rise Higher…
- Pants that have are high rise, accentutate the waist, showing off your curves. A high waist will also help with concealing muffin-top and lower back fat which will help smooth out the abdomen and back area.
Large pockets flatter the back side…
- Larger pockets that sit up higher will give you an instant butt lift. Pockets that are too wide or sit too low, will make your butt look wide and saggy. Find jeans with perfect positioned pockets.
Cigerette leg looks good on curves…
- If you want to balance out your curves a cigarette leg would like nice. Pair with a roomy sweater, moto jacket and/or flats to create some instant fashion slayage.
Go Dark…
- Darker Hues have a slimming effect and conceal problem areas better than lighter hues. The darker hue is also very versatile and can easily go from a day look to a night on the town. Take care to wash darker hues before wearing so they color doesn’t bleed onto anything lighter. I also personally prefer to handwash or take darker denim to the cleaners as this will help the fabric last longer as well as keep the color from fading.
