Although I live in California and we don’t actually see the full seasonal changes from summer to fall, the weather does tend to get a little cooler and I absolutely love it.

Waking up in the morning and feeling that chill in the air is one of the best feelings during California falls. It’s finally time to pull out the sweaters, beanies and boots. We do have to enjoy it because the weather can rapidly change back to 80 degree weather before you know it. Right now, as I write this I can hear the rain hitting the roof, and the sprinkles fall against the window. I’m bundled up in my black sweater and beanie with a fall candle burning. My current favorite candle for fall is the Pecan Waffles from Bath and Body Works. It smells like a cake is baking in the oven and I love it.
How can you not love this time of the year. It’s a time to give thanks for all of the blessings that you have in your life and just as quickly as that Thanksgiving dinner is done, Christmas is now upon us. Christmas music fills the air and as you look around every store and home is decorated, ready for the season of giving.
As December is arriving and we are starting to make our requests to Santa, I can’t help but think about how fast this year has gone by. So many things have happen since last December and now we are about to say goodbye to a decade. These last 10 years have been interesting to say the least. Personally they were probably some of the hardest years for me, but with God’s grace and mercy, I’m here able to look over the last year and be grateful for all the peaks and valleys that I crossed.

As I sip on my Peppermint Mocha coffee, I wonder what life will offer in the new year, but then I’m brought back to the present moment where I have a YouTube channel playing a crackling fireplace and I’m listening to soft Bossa Nova jazz while my dog Brie is stretched out on the bed and I smile. I smile because this moment means so much to me. It’s warm and cozy. This moment makes me feel like I’m surrounded by the most soft and warm blanket. This is perfect.

These are the moments that we have to cherish because they go by so fast. Soon, I’ll be yelling Happy New Year and I won’t remember every detail of this exact moment because of all the moments in between. When you have the opportunity to enjoy the warm and cozy moments of fall and winter, take full advantage. Remember the scent of the candle that is burning, remember the feeling of your favorite sweater against your skin and the taste of your favorite warm holiday drink.
May all of your fall and winter night be warm and cozy and may you enjoy them with the people you love most.
Happy Holidays!
