Weekends are the time that you spend with family, run errands and just relax. I love waking up on Saturday morning with no alarm, looking out my window and giving thanks to God for another beautiful day. This weekend was truly spent enjoying good food, good company and reaching for my dreams. Now, that’s a good #WeekendLife!
Saturday morning was spent running errands with my mother. Now, if you’re an only child than you probably know the perils of what I call the “The Only Child Syndrome”. It’s when you either have plans or had no plans and just wanted to relax but your parent(s) decide that they need you to run a few errands or take them somewhere and your relaxing morning has no turned into a full day of unplanned stuff. Now, I don’t mind because it’s my mom and I would do anything for her but sometimes, you just want to relax. During my time with her, I was complaining alittle bit in my head and then this message popped up on my phone.
The app is called Sprinkle of Jesus and I must say, there have been several times that it pops up with a message and it was just what I needed at the time. So, I stopped complaining internally and started talking to my mom. The day became this amazing bonding experience.
After hanging out with my mom, it was time to get down to business. My business partner, Freddie and I decided to meet up and get some work done. We are starting a Media, Marketing and Entertainment company and we are getting all of the operations logistics down so that we can bring the customers the best of ourselves.
We met up at Open Sesame in Long Beach, Ca, It was halloween so we decided to sit on the patio and watch all the kids Trick or Treating. It was fun and a little distracting because kids are too cute. We had an amazing meal, talked over some strategy and decided to go somewhere else because 2nd street became a buzz of kids and activity that kept our distraction level on high.
Walking back to the car, we came across this awesome little French Bakery called Babette’s Feast. If you know me, then you know that I’m a huge fan of French Macarons and this little gem of a place, makes them fresh everyday. I was sold. I purchased a box of 5, Pumpkin Spice, Green Tea, Caramel Sea Salt, Red Velvet and Vanilla Bean. I was truly in heaven. Every bite was delectable.
Our next stop was to Portfolio’s Coffeehouse in Long Beach. It was perfect. Quiet, open seating and less distractions. We got down to work, talking about everything from logistics of 26 Letters, adding to our ever growing “To Do” lists, planning for This Curvy Girls Life and creating some fun events, that I will be sharing very soon!
How can you not love a weekend filled with good food, good company and building you dreams. It was perfect!
Sunday is the day I sat aside for worship, praise, reflection and family. Words cannot express how good church was this weekend. Pastor Ronderick Henry spoke on “How to Lead Your Family” and his passion for preaching shown through every word. It was moving, inspiring and encouraging. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to know Gods word deeper and have a leader that is willing to share his knowledge.
After church, I picked up my friend Sherrie from airport and if you follow my Instagram page, then you already know that Sherrie and I had to chop it up and find some good food. We decided to have lunch at North Italia, which is fast becoming one of my favorites restaurants. If you love Italian food made fresh then you will love it here. After chatting enjoying our meal, it was time to head home. I love weekends that when you get back to work and everyone asked how your weekend was and you can truly say that it was great because of the people that you surrounded with. Wishing all who have supported the blog a very blessed week ahead, and remember to savor every moment of this life.
How was your weekend? Did you dress up for halloween?
