If you love makeup like I do, then you’ve noticed that even the drugstore prices are started to go up. Sometimes I feel like if I’m going to the drugstore to grab some makeup, with the prices going higher, I might as well check the higher end options since the price difference is that far from each other these days.
Wet n Wild never fails us with budget friendly makeup and I was happy to see that they released a limited edition Geometric Highlighting Powder and new eyeshadow palettes for summer. With prices ranging from $2.99 – $4.99, it doesn’t hurt to pick them up and give them a try.
I haven’t worn the new colors yet, but I wanted to give you a quick overview of the colors and pigmentation. These swatches were done outdoors in hopes of giving you the truest color possible. Let’s get started with the highlighters.
I picked up two highlighters, Desert Explorations (Gold) and Sun Ceremony (Champagne), they are a Geometric Powder, meaning they have a few different shades within the compact. As you can see from the swatches below, the pigmentation on the finger is very deep but once applied to the arm area, the color faded out a little, which I personally was happy to see. You can build up the color as you see fit. I also mixed all of the colors in the swatches below, as I figured if I used a brush, I would glide over the entire compact instead of trying to pick up one color. I’m liking the swatches so far and looking forward to trying them on during a full face makeup look. For the price, it’s was definitely worth picking it up.
I also picked up two eyeshadow palettes, To In-Di-O I Go Go and The New Romantics. As you can see both palettes mostly consist of shimmer shadows. The To In-Di-O I Go Go does have one semi-matte crease color. What I loved about these swatches was the pigmentation. For $2.99 each, you get a great payoff with the color. I’m loving the color combination as these as well because they are perfect for the summer. The only draw back that I noticed was that some of the colors are a little chalky, but did glide on smooth. I’m concerned about the possible fallout but I think the color payoff will be worth it. I’m looking forward to wearing some of theses
Overall, I’m happy with this budget purchase. Once I have the opportunity to wear the shadows and highlighter, I will comeback with a full review.
