Hey Curvy Girly’s,
The month of Love, February has come and gone. Can you believe it? We are already into March. During the month of February, I’ve used some amazing products that I just loved and had to share. Some of the products are staples that I’ve recently revisited, while others are completely new to me.
Let’s start with hair products:
Shea Moisture – Curl Enhancing Smoothie ($11.99 Target) This product has been in my rotation since I went natural 5 years ago. However, I recently rediscovered how much I loved it. In the last month, I’ve been going to the gym more, so I decided to wear my hair in a two-strand twist protective style to make gym life a little easier. I used the Curl Enhancing Smoothie to moisturize my hair during the week. I would rub a little in my hands and run over my twists every few days to help maintain the moisture level. I also love the coconut smell, which usually causes people to ask me what perfume I’m wearing.
TRESemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner ($4.99 Target). I’m just getting hip to the TRESemme Naturals line and I’m loving it. It’s been my go-to for detangling my hair lately. I start with dry hair that I section off. I saturate each section with the conditioner, used my fingers to detangle and then used a wide tooth comb to complete the detangling process. After detanlging, I place my hair in twists and move on to the next section. This not only helps to detangle but I also get a great deep conditioning in while I complete all sections. My hair is left feeling soft and manageable after cleansing and styling.
Next up is Skin Care:
I’m in love with the Oil Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit foaming scrub by Neutrogena ($7.49). Whenever I’m having any breakouts, this is the scrub that gives me that flawless look after a single wash. The smell of grapefruit is really nice and the micro-beads gives you that deep down clean.
And finally, the Makeup stuff.
E.L.F. (Eyes Lips and Face) Makeup Mist and Set ($3.00 Target). For an inexpensive setting spray it’s AMAZING. I love the cucumber scent and I don’t have much transfer when I set my face with E.L.F.
Rimmel London Stay Matte Primer ($6.99 Walgreens). My primer of choice for years has been the SmashBox face primer, but I wanted to find something a little less expensive, that could give me the matte/flawless finish that I like with or without makeup. I’ve tried a few drugstore brands, but the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer has really won me over this month. I was a little skeptical when I first purchased it because it’s thicker than I was used to and also a creamy white color and texture. However, it melts right into my skin and doesn’t leave a white residue. I will allow it to absorb into my face after applying for a least 1 minute. When I wear it without makeup, it fills in any lines and give that great matte finish which I love. When I wear it under my makeup, it helps to mattify my foundation and/or concealer. For the price, it’s a great alternate.
BH Cosmetics Polka Dot Brushes with case. ($19.95) I’ve been a fan of BH Cosmetics eye shadow for a while, but didn’t purchase any brushes until recently. The bristles are amazingly soft and I haven’t noticed much fall out of the bristles in the month that I’ve been using them. Now, I will say this, the bristles are so soft that I was a little uneasy when I first used them because I wasn’t sure if they would do the job, but when I tell you that these brushes are great! I mean great! I’ve been using them all month.
So, what has been your favorite products to use during the month of February? Did you find something new that you must share? Or perhaps you used your go-to products and they work amazing! Share with our community!
